i have a 1991 toyota 2 wheel drive 4 cylinder fuel injected truck. manual transmission. it wont start. when i try to crank it you can hear it clicking. the battery is good. i replaced the terminals, the slave cylinder, starter and cylinoid, and new wires going to starter, and it still wont crank. if you have any solutions please let me know. thanks.
Had the same problem with my 91 4runner. Turns out this is a very common problem with toyotas. Also it is not a hard do it yourself fix. I've posted my solution to rebuild the starter without removing it somewhere on this site. What has happened is the electrical contact in the starter has been burnt by the heavy current and 1000's of starts. So the condition gradually gets worse. If you can do the work the repair parts are about $12. I suggest you fix what you have, as buying a rebuilt starter is a **** shoot. With a $12 parts fix , and a few bruised knuckles, you should get another 100000 miles from your starter. Search the web for clicking toyota.
