It is located under the trottle body, where the air cleaner attatches to the engine, you will need a 6" extension,13mm socket,13mm box end wrench, ratchet, the top bolt is easy enough to get to but the bottom one will have to be taken out with the wrench, the bolt hole is slotted though..so you can loosen it up till it almost out then slide the thermostat housing off, when you reinstall the t-stat,make sure it stays in place..if it doesnt..when u tighten the housing down you will crack it.hope this helps

Location of thermostat on a 2007 pontiac montana sv6

Follow the radiator hose back to the engine. Where the hose meets the engine is where the thermostat is. Should be two or three bolts holding the fixture on. Inside of that fixture is the thermostat. Make sure the engine is cooled down and make sure to replace the coolant that you will lose changing this. Easy fix.

Remove the heat shields (10mm bolts) and then the nuts on the exhaust studs. (6 total)

Where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine you will find the thermostat under that housing. You must drain the radiator and remove the upper hose. Then remove the 2 bolts holding the housing in place. Make sure to pay attention to which way the thermostat is mounted, spring up or spring down.
