Manufacturer recomends every 5000 miles, I personaly recomend every 3 thousond miles and always use the toyota brand oil filter or you will be replacing the timing chain early. If your oil indicator light is on then check the level of oil. If it is low this will cause it to come on, also if the oil gets too thin from not being changed it will lower the oil pressure making the light come on, worst case is the oil pump can go out and the light will come on because of no oil pressure.

When your last oil change was performed they did not reset your light for you, Grab your manual and follow instructions to reset, You can find it under the Maintance section

Main reop light in dash

Hello, and welcome to FixYa.

The 'Maint Reqd' light indicates that you are due for an oil change. It will blink 4,500 miles since the light was reset at your last oil change, and stay on steady after 5,000 miles.

If you recently had an oil change, all you need to do is reset your maintenance reqd lamp. The procedure is here on this site inthe 'tips and tricks' section, and it is also in your owner's manual.

Is it possible to be without oil in the engine and no lights on advising this in a toyota camry 2007 with 77000 miles?

There should be lights warning you about it. Check the oil often. If you run it without oil, well, you may blow the cylinders and pistons.

Toyota camry 2007 Maintenance light on the dash

Most maintenance lights are set to come on automatically every 5,000 miles telling you to get your oil changed. If you do your own service, or have someone other then the Toyota dealer service your vehicle, look for that light description in the owners manual where it explains the dash lights and go to the page explaining it and it should give you the procedure to reset that light when it comes on.

Good Luck

My oil light will flicker on for a second when I apply the brakes in my 2007 Toyota Camry with 70,000 miles, that also had an oil change 2000 miles ago. Any thoughts on why?

Your oil sensor may be faulty, or your oil may be low, or your may have a leak. By taking your foot off the gas, you're reducing the oil pressure

My maintance requared light came on

That indicator is on to remind you that you need an oil change. It comes on automatically every 5,000 miles; and needs to be reset when the oil is changed

Reset maintainenance indicator

The light is just a warning that an oil change is due because 5000 miles has passed. To turn it off, see p. 148 of your manual. In summary, set Trip Meter to "a." Shut off car. Hold down trip meter button while turning car back on with Power Button. Continue to hold down trip button while it resets the light...it takes a couple of seconds.
