I have a 99 Dodge Durango 5.9 that is not getting spark or fuel

I have a 99 Dodge Durango 5.9 that is not getting any spark and the fuel pump is not engaging at the same time. Already changed the coil and fuel pump. Any suggestions on what the issue may be?

Thanks for the advise mrdrchad203. The fuel pump is not engaging when the key is turned on though. Would this still be the issue? Or would it be ECM related?

The control module in the distributor that signals the coil to fire also signals the fuel pump to operate replace should cost around $50

could be because when it is bad it opens the circuit not allowing current to flow to the pump...you can take it out and have Auto Zone check it also check all the electrical plugs under the hood make sure they are tight and clean inside moisture could have caused corrosion

Where is the fuel pump reset switch on a 99 DODGE DURANGO

There is not a reset switch. Ford had them. If you are getting power back to the pump and can not hear it prime when you first turn key on more then likely you have a bad fuel pump.

99 dodge durango

Could be a problem in the ignition circuit. Check or test coil and ignition module-one of them may be shutting down or shorting out when they get hot.
Verify by checking for spark at a plug wire immediately after it shuts off: if no spark, it is an ignition problem. Besides the coil and ignition module, other possibilities are the crank position sensor, cam position sensor, ecu, the ASD relay (automatic shuit down relay-it's in the power distribution box under hood). If that relay fails, all power is cut to coil and fuel injectors, and maybe the fuel pump also.
Good luck.

99 Durango will not start. It is getting fuel and spark. Poured small amount of fuel in trottle body and it will start, and then die when that fuel runs out.

If you have to put fuel in the throttle body to get it to start then its not getting fuel from the gas tank, a clogged fuel filter can cause this problem as can a failing fuel pump or pump relay.

99 5.2 durango :pulled codes for multipe missfire cylinder #5-7

Aloha We have just replaced all of what you have replaced, plus water pump, fuel pump, pcv valve and 02 sensor. Took it to mechanic today we had misfire on 1,2,6,7. Mechanic said that the 99 dodge is known for bad computers, he checked ours and works great turns out that it was the coil. Ours was jumping 1/4 inch and had a orange/yellow spark. it is supposed to have a 1 inch spark and be blue. This has solved our problems after 527 dollars later.
Check the coil!

99 dodge durango will not start

Check the fuel pump when you turn the key forward but dont crank it and see if you hear the fuel pump engaging. I hope this helps.
