I just bought a 2006 chevy uplander and when i park and turn off the key the headlights and the rear back lights stay on for a bout 15 seconds. is this normal especially the back up lights.

Your park/ headlights should have power when the key is in the off position. I would look at your headlight switch.

First setting just the parking lights or markers on the corners(Yellow Front) (Red Rear). Second position the headlights are added and you can turn on the fog lights when the lights are on but not the brights.

It is possible that the key that he cut is a fraction out of align with the tumbler pins and that is registered as a wrong key combination. Have him check length of the key from the last tumbler to the pin . or take the key to a locksmith and see it anything can be explained as to why it will not turn

may need dealer service to reprogram..

i have a 2006 chevy uplander and i need to change the low beam headlamp how do i do it, also about a month after we had got the van the rear wiper stopped working i haven't checked the fuse yet, but is this a common problem for the uplander, and also the abs light stays on what should i do for that problem, and also when we drive it and then shut it off it does not want to turn on right away.

My 2006 Uplander would not shut off the parking lights. I came here for a solution. I saw the answer here, actually the question, and I used the key fob to lock the vehicle. The lights went off. That was a temporary solve. Now, is this a "glitch" or a "feature"?

the switch is bad please replace same

Check the electrical grounds for the taillights. In fact, get a diagram and check all the easily accessible grounds. Many of these are in the engine bay.
