you mean the 2.0Liter I-4 motor? it has what is called a structual pan. and that was a big mistake. not only the part but the long labor to pull pan on any GV sorry. for the view of this motor see this page 7 (next time introduce son to the magic of a torque wrench , aluminum is not steel. http://www.fixkick.com/engine/20Liter/20L-PARTSFINDER1.pdf
The price seems to cover change of oil - filter - check of brakes etc. If Suzuki has done the work - you can rely on the service done.
If I were you I would ask Suzuki what has been done.
well at our shop we replace the engine air filter, the cabin air filter if you have one,oil and filter change, tire rotation, set tire pressures, depending on the car we do trans fluid,we run fuel injector cleaner thru the fel rail,,,thats about it
You can use an oil filter wrench or get a rubber handled wrench that you can open jar lids with and use that instead to turn counter-clockwise to remove. If stuck, jam a screwdriver through it and turn it.
There are several different styles of oil filter wrenches other than the band-tightening type that requires a lot of lateral clearance. One works like a large socket and grips the filter on the top and accepts a ratchet or extension. See what they have at the local parts store. As an ultimate solution, go to the dealer and ask to see the needed wrench and then go shopping.
Four or six cylinder engine and behind or front of the oil filter? Looked under my GV 2007 2.7 V6 and can not locate a shiny metal box next to the oil filter. Only thing that was shiny was the exhaust manifold and oil sump which are quite hard to break or puncture.
If it was the oil sump you will have to remove it and get it welded as a bog will not hold on heated engine parts.
