Start with the basics...you need air, fuel and a good spark. Since there is not a lot of information to go on, we'll assume it started before and now doesn't. So, air....make sure the air cleaner is new or unclogged. Fuel, make sure the vehicle has a tank of Good, clean fuel, change the fuel filter, when the engine is being "turned over" make sure there is fuel evident in the carb and that you can actually see fuel running into the carb., check for spark, spark checkers can be bought at an auto supply store for around 5 bucks, it attaches between the spark plug and the wire, everytime the rotor goes around and makes contact with the brass contact, an electrical charge is sent down the wire and a light will flash in the checker. It has to be a bright light, not a dim one. Vehicles need a good heavy spark to run. In most cases of non-running vehicles, it is going to be ignition based or spark related. Cover all the bases, there may be an ignition box with multiple connections, the rotor may be worn down or heavily corroded, the cap may be full of cracks and corroded, the ignition module inside the distributer may be dead, the magnetic pickup coil inside the distributor may be rusted or corroded. If you are not getting fuel, the fuel filter may be clogged, the fuel pump has gone bad, there may not be fuel in it, even if the gauge reads fuel doesn't mean there is actually fuel in the tank, there may be water in the fuel. The fuel pressure regulator may be collapsed in the carb housing.
This may get you started in the right direction of what to look for....good luck
