Suddenly stop turning over have power to starter switch etc. but won't start friend says that clutch sensor is dead but I don't know what I'm looking for. I've got half of the dash apart still not fin

Clutch position sensor? Never heard of one. There is a switch on the pedal arm that won't let you crank the engine unless the clutch is depressed. Do the headlight test. Turn on you headlights and push in the clutch and crank over the engine. If your lights dim, your battery is low, If the lights go out uou have a loose battery connection or poor cable to battery contact. If they do nothing, then you need to ck the clutch switch. I would say it is number 2
