How do i replace rear wheel bearings

Remove tire, brake caliper, rotor, and abs sensor. Remove complete steering knuckle with hub, rotor sensor, splash shield, and bearing with seals from tie rod, strut, and ball joint. Take complete steering knuckle with hub, rotor sensor, splash shield, and bearing with seals to auto machine shop to have old bearing and seals, and rotor sensor with hub pressed out and new bearing and seals, and rotor sensor with hub pressed in. Don't forget the splash shield that fits between the the steering knuckle and rotor sensor with hub. Reassemble in reverse order. Pay special attention to abs wheel speed sensor specifications. Where is the ABS sensonr located on 1997 Intrepid?

Majority of vehicles have a magnetic pick-up right behind the brake rotor. It picks up this signal from a metal disc with perforation. It has to know how fast or slow it's spinning and sending that data back to the ABS control module. It could also use the disc brake rotor too picking the signal from the top edge (I'm just guessing on that set up although possible). It has two wires coming out from it. Some cars have a brake pad wear sensor that has two wires coming out of the brake pads, so don't confuse this as an ABS pick up. It could also be called a wheel speed sensor.

Remove rear seat of 99 Intrepid

Hi!!

There are two clips holding the bottom cushion of the rear seat. Just grab the front edge and pull it up sharply, this will release the clips.

As for the back part of the seat, it is fastened by a couple of nuts, but seat belts have to be removed.also.

Good Luck!!!

When I brake there is a grinding and the petal flutters. I was told it was the sensor for the abs. how do you fix it.

If there is a grinding noise or "feeling" then you have worn your brakes down to the metal of the pads/shoes. Have your brakes serviced, and this will fix them right up.

This is a job that isn't too difficult for a do-it-yourself-er. However, if you continue to drive it this way, you will be forced to replace at least one rotor as well as the brakes. For most cars this isn't very expensive, except for the labor if you don't do it yourself.

I hope this helps.

Location of speed sensor a for 99 dodge intrepid

The "Vehicle Speed Sensor" signal is generated by the transmisson output speed sensor. That is the one located at the rear of the case. It is externally mounted. That supplies "vehicle speed" info to the other On-Board Computers. The input turbine speed sensor is located just behind the bell housing area of the case. I believe the trans controller is the only module that needs that info. The Crank Position Sensor give engine RPM info and it is located on the bell housing near the engine block. I hope this helps.
