Well, I can tell you the grade is 5w-30.

Non-synthetic you need to change the oil every 3,000 miles.

Full synthetic, you can go a little longer on oil changes. Like 4,000 to 5,000. Better for higher demand engines. Like hauling trailers and stuff.

As far as the brand, personally I like Valvoline. Other people have different brands they like. But, that just mine.

When should I tune up my 2007 dodge ram. I have 35000 miles on it

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. 35000 miles is really not a lot of miles. I would wait until 60000 miles to change the plugs/coils, wires, coil pack, distributor cap. You need to change the fuel filter and the air filter though. This would be a good time to flush the coolant system also. You can also check the alignment of the vehicle as well. You are more then welcome to check out my routine maintenance tips on my page. Clean your battery terminals and post too.

Tachometer dpes not operate 35000 miles

Common issue with the 04-05 Impala instrument clusters. It's caused by a failing stepper motor on the cluster's circuit board behind the tachometer but it can be fixed. Check this page for more about it and how to get it fixed - Impala tachometer does not work

Oil light is on

May be bad oil pressure sending unit. Best way to check is to connect a mechanical oil pressure guage to engine and check pressures when engine is warm. Should be no lower than 40 psi at idle when warm, no higher than 70 psi at 2000 rpm.

At how many miles should I change my transmission oil?

Hi,
You should have a service manual that came with your vehicle when you purchased it. It will tell you how often you should change the different fluids, either in months or the amount of miles you have put on the vehicle. Most dealers have different schedules. If you don't have a records manual, you can call the dealer and they will tell you this. My vehicle says every 12,000 miles or 6 months which ever comes first.I hope I have been of some help to you.
Sincerely, shastalaker7

I am losing gas mileage but the car runs great

Could be time for a tune up.
1) new spark plugs with the gap set perfect. Every 70000 miles.
2) new spark plug wires.Every 100000 miles.
3) new fuel filter every 35000 miles.
4) new air filter every 35000 miles.
5) new oil and filter changed at least every 4000 miles.
6) make sure tire air pressure is correct.
And beleave it or not, a washed clean car gets 2-3 better mpg highway.
I hope this check list helps you and your car.

My 2005 monte carlo is having trouble starting why?

You dont say how many miles are on the car.If you have 30000 miles the fuel filter must be replaced and every 30000 miles. I can hardly blow through mine after 30000.The gas stations have lots of dirt in their storage tanks.I also add a bottle of STP fuel treatment (red bottle) to consume the condensation (water) that forms in the gas tank.I do this about 4-5 times a year. Also the air filter needs to be kept clean.
I bought the 2001 Monte and now have 175000 miles and still get 34.5 mpg highway.
You must replace the spark plugs at about 75000 miles.
I drop the trans pan and install a new filter and then add new oil at every 35000.
I hope this helps you.
