96 Tahoe front right side brakes will noe release

Replace my front brakes, new Calipers and berrings. Driver side has no prblems, but passanger side is an issue. after about 4 stops the brakes will not release. I used the Speed Bleeder to release the pressure and the pasd released the roater, but as soon as you use the brake again the same thing happens. I have blown a Tire and mekted an ABS sensor due to the heat created by the friction. I put on a new caliper but got the same result.. HELP??????????

Your brake hose is probably resricted slightly colaspsed on the inside replace the brake hose (wouldn't be a bad idea to replace both frt hoses) and did you lube your caliper slides pins

Testimonial: "I have new respect for ford guys. Changed the brake lines and all is well. Thanks"

94' Honda Accord 5 door, Driver side caliper piston remains stuck in closed position constantly applying constant brake pressure to driver side front wheel brake piston.

if the caliper is ok it sounds like the flexiable hose is restrcted by the metal crimps on the hose corroded and crushing the reinforced rubber hose restricting the fluid returning back in to the system. change the hose

Spongy brakes

If you replaced the front calipers. Make sure they went on the right side. Bleeder valves on top. A guy at the shop just did that. As far as the rear, if they don't release, replace the brake hose/s

1996 Tahoe front driver side wheel lock's up have change everything both sides and booster new only left side locks up gets hot

When you say you've changed EVERYTHING, you mean brake pads, calipers, and rotors? Did you include the rubber brake hose to the caliper? Many people overlook this as a possible problem, yet it can cause lockups on occasion because the inner liner can collapse and act like a check valve.

Right Side Brakes keep holding and not releasing

Hi Tommy, I'm glad to help! There are only 5 things that can cause brakes to hold: (1) Calipers are sticking. NOTE: There are several reasons calipers stick, there are internally frozen meaning you need new calipers. Here's how to check them release the nut that holds the hose to the caliper when the fluid bleed out and the calipers do not release pressure from the brakes then they are internally frozen, replace them. (2) Hose's are calapsed internally. You check the hoses in the same way, release the bolt and if the calipers DO Release pressure from the brakes then you know it's the hoses. (3) The actual metal lines going to the back of the Vehicle could be damaged. Example: One time one of the rear brakes would not release pressure and I found where the line goes acroos the rear axle something had hit the line and smashed it flat and so it was holding brake pressure on the wheel. (4) Let's not forget how much dirt and grime builds up on the brakes themselves. Example: I found one time where the LANDS where the brake shoes slide were so dirty that the brake pad itself was stuck and holding the brake pressure on that wheel. (5) The Master Cylinder, not very often, but I have seen the ports in the master cylinder clog-up and will not bleed back to release brake pressure. This is a few thing for you to check out that will help you find the problem yourself and save you money. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Tommy.

Hello uncleel03,

There 3 item to look at:

1. Are the caliper mounting slide pins free and lubricated?
If not, the pins and bracket s need to be cleaned and lubricated.

2. Was a new hardware kit installed on a clean caliper mounting bracket and do the brake pad move freely in the bracket?
If not, the bracket needs to be cleaned and all rust removed from where the hardware kits attaches to the bracket.

3. Did the pistons in the calipers compress easily?
If not the caliper may need to be replaced. I say "may" because a bad brake hose can cause resistance when compressing the caliper so you will need to isolate the cause of the resistance.

Testing:

Safely lift and support the vehicle.

Have an assistant press and hold the brake peddle while you try to turn the wheel; as you are trying to turn the wheel have the assistant release the brake peddle, the brake should release immediately and the wheel should turn freely if not there is a problem with ether the caliper or brake hose.

To determine where the fault is you will need to remove the tire and have your assistant apply and release the brake. If the brake remains engaged open the bleeder if the brake releases the brake hose is the problem and needs to be replaced, if not the caliper needs to be replaced.

Repeat this procedure on the other side to determine it's integrity.

Of course you will need to bleed the brakes after these tests and after the new parts are installed before you can drive the vehicle.

I hope this help.

Regards,

My right front brake will not release. It has actually burnt my brake pads which i need to replace. What can I do to get the brake to release?

I would replace the rubber brake hoses going
to the calipers,as they may have collapsed inside

Replace the calipers as they may have rusted inside,
and the pistons do not release

Do both side of car the same

Bleed all 4 wheels

Front disc brakes

Probably a restriction in the brake line from the master cylinder to the wheel.

Most of the time brake hoses do this (collapsed hose or hose inner liner) but the restriction could be anywhere from the point your front brake pressure divides to both wheels to the caliper of the wheel. The problem is not the caliper itself because the bleeder is able to relieve the pressure.
