Problem for Chevrolet 2003 Tracker

Check engine soon light came on. went in for oil

check engine soon light came on. went in for oil change and test said egr valve. had oil changed and was told this may fix the problem. 2 weeks later check engine soon light is on again. should i have egr valve replaced?

try cleaning it up with some wd-40 if slitt having problem replace

More than likley it is bad and needs to be replaced, but you could try to clean it. Sometimes they get carbon deposits stuck in them keeping them from closing or opening.
