Question about 2001 Volkswagen Cabrio
There is a switch on the parking brake that makes the brake light come on .Sometimes they get stuck on. Also there is a switch on the fluid metering valve that will make the light come on if the fluid pressures are not equal to each wheel.

You just need to add some brake fluid to the reservoir. The float switch turns on the light when the car is not leveled because the fluid is low.
