I just took my car into the garage and they said that there is a problem with the differential in the transmission. What exactly does that mean? II had the transmission replace 8 months ago with a used one. Can I continue to drive it and for how long?? Will it cause any other problems?

In a front wheel drive car the differential (rear end) is connected directly to the transmission with a coupler instead of a driveshaft. Whatever the problem is that they told you about,it will not go away. The more you drive it, the worse it will get. Hope this helps.

Fiat stilo engine fault

the air bag k light is activated when a sensor sensors that a bag is not at the correct pressure or a problem in the circuitry has been detected . I would have the CPU reset first to shut the light off and then if it came back on I would investigate why . Unless the sensor is in a position inaccessible under the dash I would seek a second opinion from a dealer service centre

Check for the axle of the side from where the cutting noise is coming. Axle is mainly responsible for the cutting noise. Or you can check for the camber angle of the tyres.

Change the fluid in the differential and also add a couple of ounces of friction modifier. I would do the same for the transfer case.

I have a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT. When I reach speeds over 20mph I hear a rattling noise coming from the front passenger side. It kind of sounds like metal clanging together. I took it to two...

It's very possible that the front drive disconnect is failing, this can't be seen from the outside. The attached diagram shows the various components in the upper portion. There has been poor lubrication in this design and things wear out. You need to take the truck to a mechanic familiar with GM 4x4 systems.

1987 944 porsche transmission and differntial fluid

I'm assuming that this is a 5 speed stick car because you mentioned 80-90 oil. This car has a transaxle, not a a separate transmission and differential. The transaxle houses the transmission gears and the differential all in one housing. There is a drain plug on the bottom a fill plug on the side. Here's a link to one of the best do-it-yourself 944 sites on the web. Click on the "garage shop manual" link in the sidebar and scroll down to "transaxle fluid change".

Noise from rear

This might be your muffler or something loose with the rear differential. What type of noise is it? metallic? Check your spare tire where it sits. Could be something loose around that, like a bolt or a screw jumping around on the bumps.
LEt me know if this helps.
