Question about 1988 Oldsmobile Delta 88

Just put in new fuel filter, no car starts, but does keep running, it starts, but sputters and dies. What can I do to get my 1988 olds delta 88 royale up and running again?

1) Check the fuel pump pressure to be sure it is correct.

Sounds like the crank sensor or ignition module. I would try the crank sensor first. It is cheaper and usually the problem.

Most likely a lack of fuel, check the fuel filter first.

Hi there I have a 1988 delta 88 the problem is that when I start it up and drive it wants to stall out but when the temperature rises it runs alot better not to sure if this is the problem I have replaced...


Could be several issues that are common with GM cars :
  1. Bad MAP sensor
  2. Bad TPS (Throttle Position Sensor)
These are the most common areas that would cause the problem you have.
