I don't know the Galant, but the port is usually just under the curve of the dash, probably to the left of the steering column. I'd look around under the dask for a port that matches the plugin end of the tool. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Need my Liberty to pass smog I recently had codes po445 and po442, will this be a problem for passing smog if check engine light isn't on? Not sure if problem was resolved with new gas cap.

if your check engine light isn't on, they will still hook up a diagnostic code tester to your vehicle to see if the computer has picked up any problems, if the computer has picked up a problem, and you fixed the problem, then you can have the code removed from the system, with a diagnostic code tester.

Car dies at stop lights

With out being able to hook it up to a computer to run diagnostics or ir you are able to you need to check the( IAC) idle air control , this valve is motorized and moves in or out to control idle speed . it can fail, or the passage way over time can carbon up also causing a concern. But with this valve you really need the car to be hooked up to a diagnostic computer to monitor the valve operation while running

Replaced computer 3 times....still gauges and car goes crazy..

THERE IS ONE COMMON FACTOR ABOUT COMPUTERIZED CARS "IF YOU HAVE A LOOSE OR FAULTY GROUND WIRE "THE DIAGNOSTICS MACHINE WILL READ FAULTY THUS MAKING IT A TRIAL AND ERROR PROBLEM AT THE DEALER
WHAT I RECOMMEND IS CHECK OR HAVE YOUR GROUND WIRES CHECKED THERE SHOULD BE ONE FROM FIREWALL TO BLOCK,1` FROM BLOCK TO CHASSIES,1 FROM BATTERY TO BLOCK ,1 FROM BATTERY TO CORE SUPPORT AND PROBABLY MORE CHECK REPAIR MANUEL FOR ADDITIONAL GROUND WIRES

I have car trouble.

well its kinda hard to tell whats the actual problem bc every thing is run by computer on ur vehicle but it could be a sensor of some sort or computer problem but its a good thing that the check engine light came on that mean it logged a diagnostic code and a professional mechanic can hook up a diagnostic computer to the car and see waht code it is and should be able to fix the problem for u good luck

The data link gets it's power from the fuse that also powers the cig. lighter,is the cig. lighter working?
If not check fuse no.3 (20amp) in the interior fuse panel.

We have seen on some occasions that some scan tools just will not link up for some reason. We have had several vehicles that customer went to have their state inspections done and the tester at that shop would not link up.We hook our ford diagnostic tester to it and it links right up,we then hook them to our inspection machine(which is not ford equipment) and they link right up to it.

check engine light indicates that the computer in your vehicle has sensed a electrical problem pretaining to the performance of the engine usualy a diagnostic scan would determine the actual cause, vehicle has to be hooked up to a diagnostic tools.
