Question about 2005 Mazda 3

Open Question

On a mazda 3 2005 the A/C keeps turning off. Has there been a problem with the controls. I removed the controls to check for loose wires. did not find anything wrong. When I put it back together it started working better for about three weeks now its back to turning off by itself. Juan rodriguez

Have another look at your plug wires, and make sure that you have them in the right order. As you probably know, if the firing order is wrong, you can have problems. That is somewhere for you to start, anyway.

SOURCE: I have a 1991 Mazda Navajo. Dome Lights and Stereo wont work.

You have to be very careful working with cigarette lighter assemblies. The inner parts of the assembly can rotate without you realizing it, and this can bring the positive and negative portions of the assembly together. This can create a short circuit. Normally, the fuse will blow.

I would take the assembly back out and make certain that there is separation between the positive and negative sections of the assembly.

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

Yes it can be that wire if it's connected to the starter. I strongly suggest that you take it to a reputable auto electrician to trace out the fault. You may need to replace the starter too if that wire causes the damage.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

SOURCE: 2001 Mazda MPV, have replaced

Removing either battery cable, thereby taking the battery out of the circuit, with the engine running can cause the alternator to charge full tilt and destroy sensitive micro volt (computer controlled) components; and I've seen wiring harnesses go up in flame from it. You may have a module problem.

Engine cuts out when steering wheel tilt is adjusted. Also, cruise control not working.

For the cruise control, check the fuses under the steering wheel. As for the engine cutting out, don't adjust the steering wheel while driving.

Wat is a P1407 fault code....I connected a scan tool to a 1996 mazda 626 and I got three fault code P1407,P0303,P0171.....I need help

p1407 is egr system no flow

p0303 is cylinder 3 misfire

po171 is fuel control system is lean

you might want to start by checking the mass airflow sensor bolts as they tend to come loose.and that should take care of the po171. check the hoses for the egr, if all is okay possibly the egr solenoid might be faulty. for the p0303 check the sparkplug on cylinder three and the spark plug wire, if you have an ohm meter you can check the resistance of the wire by hooking up your test leads to either end of the wire (after removing it from the engine) and make note of the resistance...then replace that wire and remove another one and test it the same way.. the results should be about the same, if you compare a shorter wire then the resistance will be slightly lower...just as if you test a longer wire it will be a little more. hope this helps

The battery keeps going flat every so often like it is not keeping charge

EASY FIX, EVERY LIKE 3 YEARS BATTERIES WEAR OUT, LOAD TEST THE BATTERY WITH A LOAD TESTED AVAILABLE AT TOOL STORES AND CHECK FOR WEAK DROP VOLTAGE, IF BATTERY HOLD LOAD THEN CHECK THE WIRING TO THE CHARGER , CHECK FOR LOOSE TERMINALS OR REMOVE THE ALTERNATOR AND TAKE IT FOR A FREE TEST AT AUTOZONE OR KRAGEN ITS FREE AND THEY WILL LET YOU KNOW IF ITS GOOD OR BAD OR WEAK.... 01 mazda millenia stops running no fuel

Need more info...........

Check the fuel pump. Do you hear it kick on for about 2 seconds when you turn the ignition key foward (but do not start engine)?

Remove fuel line from inlet to throttle body. Have someone turn key while holdinga rag over the hose end. If fuel comes out, it another problem- perhaps a loose wire, or a bad computer board (they go bad sometimes after car was in an accident).
