Question about 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer

I washed this car the day before. Then I parked it outside on a sunny day. When I came back the rear glass was broken into small pieces but in place.

I was told that there might be a problem if the defroster is set on and the day is very hot. I want to know if this can happen on a hot and sunny day. This glass was broken in very small pieces as when it explodes.

Washing the day before should do that unless it was freezing out when you washed it and then was still cold the next day when it got sunny.

just as a note I had my window do this but i was standing there when it happend, a truck with deep tread came flyin down my street and through a tiny pebble into my back window while i was standing there and shattered it and kept it completely in place. just thought id throw that out there cause it could just be coincidence that you washed it b4 it happend

Washing the car had nothing to do with the glass breaking. Where did you park it? Where you parked it will tell me alot because it is possible a small rock or some other similar object could have hit the window causing it to break. You can bring your car to a car window replacement shop or you can call one and ask them to come to you. Either way, they will be able to replace the glass for you.

Under the carpet by the rear hatch, there is a place for a standard screw driver to pop the latch. Might have to cut the carpet to get to it.

Outside mirror repair

If the movement controls on the back of the mirror broke you will have to replace the entire mirror assembly. Go online to Rockauto.com and put in your car info and you will be able to select the mirror for your car. They are the least expensive place I have found for parts for do it yourself people who want to save money. Have used then for years for mirrors, headlights, fenders, hoods, etc.

How in the world do you get a new rear passenger side door glass back in after removing the broken pieces of one that was shot out with a bb gun?

Well, take the door panel off, and slide the new glass in after vacuuming out all those little pieces of glass with a vacuum cleaner. Installation, should be similar to replacing good glass.

Rear hatch not unlocking

The motor is atached to the lever by a small blue plastic piece. When this plastic gets old and cracks you will still hear the motor working but the glass will not pop. First undo the two screws on the handle in side. The plastic part of the handle will come off. to open you will have to pull the plastic back in the center (dont pull to hard it can break) and reach the mechanism with your hand. push the lever twords the passanger side of the car and the glass will pop open. after that take the plastic of the tail gate with the two screws on the side and pull it until the clips that hold it on let go. You will then be able to see the broken plastic piece. you can zip tie it together but its worth it to replace it.

Water in distributer cap... Old spark plug wires with water in them...

Moisture can cause a lot of problems.... try drying out all the ignition parts you can. then re start and see if problem goes away. Hood up on a hot sunny day can do wonders!

2003 Ford Explorer-Rear Wiper Motor-How to Replace?

the plastic panel pops off , if you had a trim removal tool it would be nice but it can be improvised , they are just tension clips , get some kind of lever behind the panel and give it a pop , once the plastic panel is off its pretty much self explanatory from there , a connector and couple small bolts , now the outside has nut under the w/w blade , a piece of the arm cover pops up to access the nut , remove w/w arm , then a grommet and under the grommet is a bigger nut that helps hold the motor onto the door/hatch , when reinstalling before you put the w/w arm back on run the wiper and make sure it shuts off and in the park position . should be a piece of cake .
