If the Catalytic converter is gone in a Honda Crv 2003 model does the vehicle blow smoke from exhaust and have a louder sound from exhaust when over 3000 revs?

Its possible the catalytic converter is stopped up, or the muffler.
A mechanic would disconnect the cat and check for blockage.

Smokes when idling

general rule of thumb, metal expands when warm, Blue smoke is oil, white smoke is either A: water in your exhaust, B: excessive fuel
If you have white whispy smoke any time you idle, i would be checking your catalic converter, If you have blue smoke on idle at the time of start till your motor warms up id suggest it would be one or more piston rings with slight wear (normally first sign of serious wear) generally you can tell oil smoke by the colour and the smell. it will smell rather burnt and will be obnoxious. if it is white then its more than likely "steam" and of course carbon monoxide, so it should generally disapate very quickly. which is usually ur catalic converter or in some cases more serious the first sign of a blown head gasket as you get coolant (or anti-freeze) leaking into the combustion chamber. that can be pressure tested by ur local mechanic.
I hope this has helped cheers

2001 exaust smokes at times engine runs good no missfire running 10-30 motor oil

Exhaust smoke is not a good thing, it can slowly destroy the catalytic converter. The color of the smoke is important to know, gray smoke is usually oil burning and white smoke is coolant.

white smoke is usually burning oil but if the catalytic converter was clogged then it could just be a build up of carbon and is normal though you should get the converter changed as soon as possible to prevent further damage.

Camry smoke on startup

The key is the color and smell of the smoke.

IF coolant, the smoke is REALLY white and usually lots, and this smoke has a sweet smell. A pressure test may show some loss, and as well, often you get a little misfire that goes away.

If Oil, the color is white, but with a lot of blue, or darker...

Most of the time, after the converter warms up, it eats and converts both types of issues...

Steam, can be normal. Remember that for every gallon of fuel you burn, you actually generate 1 gallon of water. Typically evaporates or exits as steam, and is barely perceptable.

Car does not leak oil does not smoke and has good compression.but uses oil last time checked 1 qt in 500 miles 2005 ford crown vic

Hi:
Often the oil is simply getting past the small seals around the valve stems, and being burnt by the engine. You won't see smoke, because your catalytic converter burns it all up. it will eventually ruin your catalytic converter, so it might be worth fixing, rather than adding oil all the time?

My Expedition 2001 gives out White smoke when i get it whashed

If your sprayin the underbelly of your rig, the water on the outside catalytic converter is producing moisture on the inside of the catalytic converter. Nothing to worry about. Just annoying. In time it will cause your converter to rust trhough like all the others do.

Hope this helps.
