Who told you it was something in the gas tank ? Something ? not very precise info ? If I were you I would take it to a reputable repair shop and buy a hour of diagnostic time to find out exactly what was wrong instead playing a guessing game, guesses and throwing parts at it will always be more expensive than correctly diagnosing your problem. Often times they will apply the hour of diagnostic time towards your final expense of the repair, If I were you this is where i would start. You could have many issues with your overall description of your issue, don't guess at it...
