Question about 1999 Chevrolet Venture
Fuel pump. Chevy fuel pumps have a tendency to freeze up, banging on the tank frees it up momentarily, but once it freezes the first time the damage is done and the pump needs to be replaced. if you buy a pump and a Haynes manual at your local parts store and DIY you could probably save about 50% of your bill if you'd taken it to a shop. It's not a hard fix.
