Question about 1999 Chevrolet K2500

1 Answer

I have a 1997 2500 with automatic. Most of the time the trans works great. Some time the shifts are so hard it wants to bark the tires. The other day it would not shift out of 2nd regardless of where I had the shifter L, 1, 2, OD. When ever I have a problem I just need to turn key off, wait a minute and restart and things are tip top. Please advise. Trucker Todd

On my 2007 sky when i come to a stop it feels like the trans bangs in low gear? I have automatic.

Check for broken motor mount, trans linkage is mounted at some point to the engine and/or trans. When engine moves your linkage adjustment will change.

When my car gets warmed up the transmission begins to shift really hard,I just changed from 15'' tires to 16'' tires so I'm wondreing if this has anything to do with it.

It's not the tires your trans my need a good flush and filter change I would add some lucus trans additive it will help smooth out the hard shifting

It's possible, especially if the used trans sat unused for a while. When you change the filter, make sure that the trans has fresh, proper fluid.

2.7 synthetic Mobil1 ATF oil, you need an oil pump to pump the fluid from the bottom of the transmission.

98 chevy cheyene 1500 automatic -hard to shift-

Loosen the bolt thats on the trans that holds the linkage on..Some one may have tightened it to much..Or grab a hold of it and see if it is sloppy and moves around..If so its loose inside trans..Another possible cause the linkage from column to trans may be binding up when trying to shift..Hope this helps you and Have A Great Night

My 2008 Patriot jeep has had a new tranwmission a new transl switch a new wiring harness and continues to show check engine light and heatsystem; worked great for 6 months and now when that happens goes in...

the jeep patriot does really have gears since it is a CVT transmission. and since that it has been replace as you said i think that you may have an electrical problem of some sort whether it se a module or software for the module, wiring or a sensor
