Question about 2001 Jaguar XJ
Gas pump clicks off when filling up 2001 jaguar and gas will not go down bubbling back up into cap well and running on ground. The gauge registers the little bit I'm able to force down after 20 minutes about 1.5 gallons! Only able to get about a gallon before hose nozzle clicks off like its full. My engine light came on a day before the problem started.
The tank is not venting during filling--check for a damaged hose/line from the tank to the charcoal filter. Also check the large rubber coupling hose that goes from the filler end to the tank fitting for damage. Look inside the filler passage with a flashlight for an obstruction.
Check the computer with a scanner for any codes and pursue to repairs. It might be something to do with the fuel filler area.
