No the other way around its either timing or fuel not getting in or pump not pumping enough pressure
Did your oil light go out as usual when you started up the first time ????

Sounds like a lifter is bleeding down and when the car is started it is pumping back up because the oil pump is putting pressure in the system. I would have someone check for a weak lifter or adjust the rocker arm clearance.

Sounds like the valve lifters are taking longer than normal to pump up with pressure. Getting the motor cleaned out and de-sludged would help. also use good quality oil after the cleaning.

Rapping/ticking sound in my 2001 Chevy tracker engine.

does it go tick tick tick tick and when it warms up it stops or goes quiet?
its your lifters not getting enough oil
when u change your oil it will stop till that oil gets worn out
you will have to replace the lifters or it can also be a slack oil pump not pumping oil around the engine like it should

the lifters are naking noise because they are worn out or the engine oil is not reaching them due to the oil pump, but due to your cars year they might be just worn out there is only one way to fix a problem like this is to get then replaced there is no quick fix,and also they will just get louder and louder like tick tick tick and it will sound quicker.
