What code are you getting? Was the IAC valve bad or was it an electrical problem that is still around even though replaced the part?

If it is idling good, then have the light turned off with a scanner, to see if it stays out. auto zone will do this for free!

Does my 2002 Chevy Impala have an idle speed control screw that I can raise my idle speed with

Well then you have a problem with the IAC - idle air control valve , air fuel mixture , mass air flow sensor , vacuum leak or some other problem with electronic fuel injection , OBD 2 ,emissions etc... There is an idle speed , minimal setting .Adjusting this will throw off the computer system , check engine light will come on an you won't be able get it to go out ! The PCM - engine computer controls the idle speed through the use of the IAC - motor or valve . Idle Air Control Valve You need to have it fix properly ! Check engine light on ?

There is a digital stepper motor installed in the idle air control valve and it is operated by the ecm after taking all the outputs from various sensors.
Check engine light error code 33. The idle air control valve circuit open or shorted to ground. There could be three possibilities which can trigger this code and the check engine light comes on.
    1. Check the wiring harness for open circuit or short to ground. Check the idle speed control valve connector for looseness, corrosion of poor contacts. Jiggle the harness at various places to find any damaged wire.
    2. Idle speed control valve defective. (replace. Merely replacing the electronic part of the valve can also solve the problem)
    3. ECM defective. (replace)

Truck shuts down when it goes to idle

    Hi.

Check idle air control system. The system comprises a valve that allow extra air into the engine when the engine is idle. If the valve is stuck, if there is a problem with IAC wiring or solenoid or if the vacuum hose connected to the IAC has a leak you get engine running rough and turning off when idle.

Check air intake and sensor (MAF and AIT). Replace air filter. Air intake problems may result in rich mixture and in engine turning off.

Check EGR and PCV valves. These parts may cause rough idle. When the problem is EGR or PCV you usually get troubles also when driving.

Hi im having a problem i had a year ago. car starts but when i put it in gear it stalls. i can drive it if i keep my foot on the gas even when stopping. im wondering if the timing belt could have some

sound like faulty idle air control valve, or faulty tcc transmission solenoid, could have intake vacuum leak caused by pcv stuck open or egr valve stick open should see check engine light if you have egr fault or idle air control valve fault.

Engine fluctuating and cutting out all the time when slowing down to stop cos the revs drop too low

    Hi.

If engine revolutions are going up and down even when you are driving, then you have a problem with the EGR valve.

If problem is only when engine is idle, most common fault is the IAC (idle air control) valve, which regulates air when engine is idle. If IAC is OK, check air intake and the sensors installed in the air intake (MAF and IAT). The sensors detect the amount and temperature of air coming into the intake and determine the right amount of air to be mixed with fuel and injected.

There are more problems that even if less frequently can cause rough idle. A good thing to do would DBII DTC scan can be done for free at the nearest Autozone.

    Regards.

    1. Disconnect battery ground cable (14301). Refer to Section 14-01 .
    1. Disconnect the engine control sensor wiring (12A581) from the idle air control valve (IAC valve) (9F715) at the idle air control valve electrical connector.
    1. Remove the two idle air control valve retaining bolts.
    1. Remove the idle air control valve and idle air control valve gasket.

I have a 1994 camaro z28 its runs great but at times itll run good and when im at a light it will shut oof then ill turn it over it will turn on and the check engine light will turn on what can that be??

You could have a bad Air idle control valve, it may be dirty or may just need to be replaced. Try this, by two cans if throttle body cleaner and follow the instructions. this may clean the air idle valve enough that you don't have to remove it to clean. After cleaning the throttle body and hopefully the air idle control valve, time to reset the valve. Depress the accelerator peddle slightly, start the engine and run for 5 seconds. Turn the ignition switch off for 10 seconds. restart the engine and check for proper operation. Good luck and hope this helps. keep me posted , be glad to help.
