Question about 2000 Chevrolet Silverado

I am looking for instructions as to how to rebuild the turbocharger on my 6.5 diesel... can you help? I purchased the kit to do the rebuild, but it had no instructions and my mechanic has not done this before,

YOU couldent if you had the right equipment as they are a job that only the experts can do and get right as the blades in exhaust and inlet have to be balanced 100% and no run out at all
2nd the bushes have to have the correct clearance otherwise you burn oil and blow up the engine ,,and you wouldent have the puwer tools to remove the nuts and tighten them to spec ,, SORRY MATE

Could water in engine oil be due to turbo charger failure white smoke emitting from exhaust and coolant is not holding in reservoir engine oil looks like chocolate milk would a turbocharger rebuild kit fix...


If your turbo has coolant passages for cooling then it is possible. Most likely the issue is failed head gasket. You need to do a compression check or a cylinder leak down test to rule out a failed head gasket.

Need to remove the turbocharger from truck to replace oil cooler. Am unable to get it out. It is a 2003 ford 250 superduty tubo diesel 6.0 litre


1 - Remove the turbocharger intake tube
2 - Disconnect the charge air cooler inlet pipe
3 - Remove the push pins on turbo cowl
4 - Disconnect the turbo VGT solenoid
5 - Remove the oil supply tube
6 - Using the special tool, remove the oil feed tube
7 - Remove clamp from the turbo down pipe
8 - Remove the clamp from the turbo inlet
9 - Loosen the exhaust inlet pipe-to-EGR cooler clamp
10 - Loosen the RH & LH exhaust inlet pipe-to-exhaust manifold nuts
11 - Remove the rear turbocharger mounting bolt
12 - Remove the front mounting bolts
13 - Position the turbocharger and remove the turbocharger drain tube
14 - Remove the turbocharger

If you cant do it with these instructions put down your wrench and take to a dealership for a professional to work on it

When you buy a carb. rebuild kit it will come with the diagram chart and spec to rebuild it.

Have a 2003 6.0 powerstroke. lost power at high rpms and smokes like crazy
