O.K. I will try to give you the best answer that I can with the limited info given to me.First of all you don't state were the oil is coming from, so I am going to assume that you are unsure of were its leaking and start from that point. If the oil is on top and running down the engine, I would lean towards the valve cover gasket.If you can find the oil sending unit,these are also prone to leaking as well. This would be the easiest fix of all. If you don't know what it looks like, stop off at your local parts store and they can show you one and also possibly tell you where it's located. If it's leaking and you can't see anything on top but only dripping under the car,we need to find out which end of the motor it is coming from-very important as to difficulty of repair. If its coming from the passenger side of car this would normally be the front crank seal-not to bad of a fix to do. I would also replace timing belt and cam seal while you are there. If the drip is towards the drivers side, this would be the rear main seal, and unless you are a very competent shade tree mechanic-it's time to go to the shop. You must pull either the engine or trans in order to change it, pretty big job. I say this hopping you know at which end its leaking-sometimes its hard to tell from all the dirt that likes to colect on leaking oil. You may need to take it to a car wash, and give it a good underbelly cleaning. I hope this helps to at least get you going in the right direction.

How long is a piece of string ? without a good look under the bonnet i couldnt say but make sure the engine breather is clean and not clogged as this would cause a build up of back pressure which will cause the oil top leak from everywhere possible
