Gas fumes getting into car, problem being corrected, further inspections shows drive belt and tensioner need replacing, center link on idle arm to replace, coolant leaking so lower intake gasket needs...

Replacing the belt and tensioner is fairly easy and shouldn't cost to much. At least replace the belt if the tensioner is decent. Nothing is worse than having a belt break on the road and being stuck. As for AC, that's really up to you on how hot you like it. :)

The center link on the idler arm would be a good idea in time. You could wait for a while, but don't compromise your steering and handling to much.

As for the lower intake gasket you could run into big problems down the road. GM put a plastic type gasket into these 4.3L motors and they fail all the time. Even at low miles like you have. The problem is you might just be leaking coolant outside the engine block for now, but the gasket could fail and get coolant inside the motor and cause much more problems when mixing with oil and possible engine failure.

Good luck! Let me know if you have other questions. I just replaced a lower intake gasket on a 2001 GMC Jimmy a few months ago.

My 2001 Buick LaSabre "eats"

If there are no coolant leaks then check your engine oil to be sure it is not over full or foamy because if there is coolant getting into the oil it will cause irreversible damage to the engine. If the engine has ever over heated the head gasket/s could also be leaking and will need replaced.

Manifold gaskets

If you are talking about 3.4L engine there are only two manifold gaskets. But there are Four Intake gaskets two for the upper intake and two for the lower intake.

Missing on acceleration

Remove the air cleaner/intake boot, remove the wipers and upper cowl, remove the crossbeam suport bar (under wiper cowl)
Remove the throttle bosy connectors, remove the bolt on the front lower suport bracket, remove the bolt on the lower side bracket (below intake shock side)
Rthe 8mm nuts on the back where you will see a round black metal bracket, remove the 8 intake 8mm bolts, note they are different sizes, short and long and also they have a rubber washer that sticks to the intake, take care not to loose/drop any of these, especially in the engine.
Life the intake, you dont actually have to remove it completely.
Replace the 2 intake strip gaskets and if it is missing is probably the coil onplug that is bad no the spark plug.
