Question about 2001 GMC Yukon XL

1 Answer

GMC 2001 Yukon XL heater goes to full hot, no control

Heater goes to full hot, no control, even when full cold (airconditioning mode) is selected hot air continues to flow. Usually after parking overnight system often starts operating normally, if started with cold selected. System will go to full hot again if temperature is selected to the start of the warm air (red arc)12 0 clock position or greater. Once the system goes into the full hot mode nothing seems to be able to switch it off.

WellI don't know a whole lot about cars but my 2001 Yukon was doing this exact thing and I took it to the shop and it was the accuator under the seat! It was fairly cheap and now it's working perfect, hope this helps..... oh it was $90.

04 gmc yukon heater air cold passanger side.

If this happens when you are idle, and then you get hot air as you drive, most likely you have low coolant and it only cycles as you drive. Get approved dextrom gmc coolat and cap off your coolant it is most likely low.

Rear heater not working

Possible blend door motor (controls amount of heat that comes out). Or heater core in back is clogged, or air bubble. If your able to locate the two heater hoses that run to the back of the vehicle and check to see if there hot next to the heater core. if both are hot (be careful not to burn yourself) then the flow is good usually. need to pull the panel off and check the blend door motor is working when you turn the rear heater control to cold to hot. let me know what you see

Fogging up issues

If you can feel the air from the blower motor blowing up on the windshield it is probably one of two things. Either your heater core has a leak and the anti-freeze mist film is all over the windows or your heater control valve is not working.
Does the heater get hot or can you feel hot air on the windshield? If so your heater core is probably leaking and making steam inside your car.
