These had a couple of problems,,First the rubber intake tube to the throttle would crack on the bottom side, where you couldn't see it, causing stalling problems. Second,,the fuel shut off switch in the trunk. if it's in the lower left fender well under the cover/carpet flap, what happens the well area fills up with water. Push out the rubber at the bottom and clean out the debris,so the water can drain. The swtich would submerge, and getting corrodid. It's not water proof. Good Luck and hope that helps!

Have the engine checked for vacuum leaks, that will cause a high idle speed. As a 35 year veteran of auto repair I can tell you that engine flushs are a 100% waste of your hard earned money.

You have a mechanical bind. Disconnect the main linkage and work it all by hand. Everything should be free and slopy. Aerosol carb cleaner will help, but only when the engine is not running.

Please help!!! I have a 1991 cadilac the sevice engine soon light comes on now and then and at the same time the car wants to stall and sometimes does, this usually happens on slow down or after a stop,but...

Your vehicle is what called an OBD 1 system everything after 96 is an OBD11 system thats why your haveing a problem getting codes read This sounds like a vacuum problem and its related to the brakes. You see the power brakes work on engine vacuumeven though the brakes them selves are hydriolc The big round part on the fire wall under the hood derictly in front of the steering wheel is called the vacuum booster control unit this assests the brakes to make it easyer for you to stop the car and is runs of the engine vacuum. If the hose going to this unit has a leak or the unit itself is looseing vacuum then it would make the engine run badly when you push on the brake pedel and when you let off it it would be fine You could check for a vacuum leak first but it seems like the booster control unit is leaking internialy . Its not that big or that expensive of a job to do it can in most cases be replaced with out removeing the brake lines just the master cylinder from the unit good luck
