Question about 2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport 4WD

Gear Neutral light blinking while the gear is on drive. Montero Sport 98model Jeep with auxiliary. what is the problem, As a result of leakage, the seal was changed and the above mentioned problem was noticed. kindly advise on what effect this will have on the car if its been drived with the blinking sign.and How can it be rectify. Thanks.

I believe it means that your transmission fluid is either getting too hot, or there's not enough fluid

You most likely have a failed transmission and it will need to be removed and rebuilt or replaced with a remanufactured unit.

You have to replace your neutral safety switch / Range sensor after market it will cost u around $100 for the part

Well if sounds like possible a vacuum modulator or if the fluid and filter haven't been changed in say 40,000 miles or more I would recommend changing the tranny fluid and tranny filter.
