Replace each wire individually from plug to distributor one at a time and they will be in the right order. Or make yourself a diagram before you start, very carefully marking the first one you take off the distributor and where it came from and where it goes. Hope this helps..

I have a jeep Wrangler 1989 2.5 (4C) and replaced the wires and plugs sue to the vehicle running rough at mid range.. this was to no avail I would like to check the firing order. Thank You

FIRING ORDERS NOTE: To avoid confusion, remove and tag the spark plug wires one at a time, for replacement. If a distributor is not keyed for installation with only one orientation, it could have been removed previously and rewired. The resultant wiring would hold the correct firing order, but could change the relative placement of the plug towers in relation to the engine. For this reason it is imperative that you label all wires before disconnecting any of them. Also, before removal, compare the current wiring with the accompanying illustrations. If the current wiring does not match, make notes in your book to reflect how your engine is wired. I need picture of the correct order in which the spark plug wires from the distributor runs to the engine of a 97 jeep wrangler 4.0

straight six engine ,153624 firing order i know no2 and no4 leads have a sort of loop on the jeep engine and i should imagine this is the same on this model ,if you dont know where no one is then remove the rocker cover and turn engine over till the valves on no1 are closed and remove the plug to make sure piston is at top ,then you have the position on the distributor cap where no1 is ,lift cap and see where the rotor arm points too ,then this is no1 .then clockwise rotation the next hole is no5 and so on

Check your spark plugs. Without good spark plugs the ignition won't ignite. Just go look for Jeep spark plugs at like AutoZone and they are real cheap. To change them you will need a long socket wrench to twist them out and change each one.
