I have a daewoo lanos key that will turn the engine over but not start the car. I assume this is a key that needs programming - I got it when I thought I had lost a key. Where can I get this done and how much does it cost ? thanks my post code is cm23 3jq

You need a key code for the locksmith, if it's not written in your owner's manual, good luck getting one; as I have been trying for a while now. If it is a programmed key it costs a lot more to get done.

I have a daewoo lanos i have a new key does it need coding to the car?

if there is a computer chip in the original key you will only be able to get a new one from the dealer, if the new key you have turns over the engine ,but it won't start then you need a dealer key. Only try to start the car with the new key once though if you try it too many times the car will shut down and the dealer will have to reset your computer for you to be able to drive the car.

For my2000 daewoo lanos-all the lights and radio turn on but engine doesnt turn over. had battery checked, good. fuses are good.

there is probably a fault with the immobilizer system.
The car should be towed to a shop to check the immobilizer system and to reprogram the keys.

I think this will solve your problem.

I have a daewoo lanos 1349cc se i have put new piston rings had the valves re-cut and re-ground fitted new valve stem seals new hydraulic tappets replaced oil pump also had cylinder head skimmed and fitted...

Check your key immobilizer, i had a similar problem with my Lanos.
If you turn the key and your red light keeps flashing in the centre console your imobilizer is not turning off.

2002 daewoo Lanos will not turn over.

hold the key in the start position, and have someone tap on the starter. if it now starts, replace the starter.
