1990 geo tracker 1.6l manual. will turn over but will not start. Fuel is getting to the throttle body but the injector is not putting fuel in engine. I changed the fuel pump and the injector but still the same. please help.thanks

check fuel pump and fuel presure

FUEL INJECTOR NOT FIRING COULD BE FAULTY FUEL INJECTOR.HOOK A NOID TEST LIGHT TO FUEL INJECTOR ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR. CRANK THE ENGINE WATCH THE NOID TEST LIGHT SHOULD BE BLINKING WHILE ENGINE TURN OVER.IF TEST NOID LIGHT STEADY PCM FAULTY NOT FIRING THE FUEL INJECTOR.IF FUEL INJECTOR DONT BLINK OR LIGHT UP.YOU HAVE OPEN WIRING CIRCUIT TO THE FUEL INJECTOR CONNECTOR.

remove and have the injectors cleaned and set
leaking injectors will allow fuel in when not required causing the detonation

ecm does control but is also based on input from the Throttle position senser. unplug the TPS and try again. Also make sure the ECM and engine grounds are good

Check the oil. A few of them cars back in the 80's had a low oil switch to prevent the engine from running if the oil was low by turning off the fuel pump. But if it runs when you pour gas in it, and you say it has fuel pressure? Why is it not getting fuel? There has to be shut off somewhere in the line that is preventing it. Try removing a battery terminal to kill the entire system then, retry it. You never know.

turn the key to acc mode and if the check engine light is on then the computer is working. check for spark. listen for the fuel pump to turn on its in the back passenger side if both those work and you didnt mess with distributor plugs rotor or cap then you may have to bypass it. or the fuel injector could be clogged. take off the metal air intake to get to the fuel injector and pour a little gas directaly in and see if it starts. if fuel pump spark and pouring gas into were the fuel injector is then it might be a bad fuel injector or it needs to be bypassed.

sounds like an injector problem, will have to test with a noid light, if its getting power then injector is bad.

Check for injector pulse.

engine needs tuned running to fine on gas mixture slight adjustment only needed.hope this helps .adrian

fooding can be cause by 20 things,
but here are a few; by lickely

1: huge need of a tune up.
2: Injector seals leaking
3: injector leaking when off.
4: ECT sender bad or wires cut , dropped off.
5. ISC stuck fully closed, (no air ,floods)
6: iAC , clogged.
7: fuel press. regulator stuck closed and fuel pressure running 2x normal at 65psi
8: fuel return line pinched or clogged.
