My 1990 240DL was doing the same thing and it turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator. It, unfortunatley, is a shop repair. $117 for the part and $150 for labor. It runs fine now.

most of the time it's the vuccum leak under the hood . but more times then not it's the bellows in the dash that open and close the flow door you have to pull the dash sorry

you might have the same problem as i do. Im guessing that he might be a dirty throttle body.It could be a bad carb if you have one.i need full details

This sound like the overdrive relay. try to reset the relay. It looks like this one. I am in no way affiliated with the site my brother had the same problem with his Volvo

probably a overstretched cable pull, or defective latch, i had the same problem with my truck. pull hood relese a couple times, and go to hood, give it a love tap with your fist abouve the latch ontop of the hood, if that dont work, you will have to go underneath your volvo and release it by hand with a screwdriver, try and lift the latch over the catch
