Likely you have a leak in the heater core, allowing coolant to leak out. Hot coolant fluid has a smell that is usually described as sweet, but pungent. (An oxymoron if ever)

If you allow the vehicle to idle with the heater on for about 20 minutes, does a small puddle collect under the vehicle?

Sounds like you got a heater core leak, the heater core is what the coolant flows thru into your heater box in your dash to allow you to have heat, sounds like the core is leaking,by the smell and the low coolant i would say it is leaking, youll need to replace it before it blows out, you dont need 2 gallon of 200 degree coolant flowing into your car,,,

Getting wet

The divider is generally not sealed at all, just a lump of metal reinforcement, the coolant may have pooled at the rear. The water will evaporate from the coolant mixture but the coolant will stay a long time so it'll have to be vacuumed out, add water and vacuum some more to pull it from the carpet and padding as much as possible. You can verify whether it's coolant or just rainwater by smelling the carpet. You may be nose blind to it by now from driving the car so have someone else sniff the carpet if you don't detect any coolant smell yourself. It'll also feel more slick than straight water if it's coolant so that's another way to ID the liquid. Option three is a cat or dog, they'll likely try to lick it if it's coolant but don't let it clean the carpet for you unless you dislike the animal.

the dipstick is located infront right of engine, the heater takes the heat from the heater core , the coolant flows through that part so what ever the smell of your engine coolant you can smell it inside, this is only when you use heater.4a0164a.tif

Sounds like you may have a leak in the inner condenser for your AC.
One way to check your vents may feel oily or have a strange smell.
Coolant only is for your Engine & heater.
Your AC uses 134r.
You should take it to a shop. If it was me I would take it to a Ac. OR Honda Dealer.
Not something to play with freon can cause burns.

The coolant smells bad

If your engine is running hot, yes that could cause light to come on, as well as a strange smell. Have it checked a.s.a.p. otherwise it could cost you a lot of money, if it hasn't already. Don't drive it if it's running too hot. Make sure you add coolant as needed before you try anything.

If you smell coolant then your heater coil is about to go out. It will still heat but will soon add headache after headache . have someone check your heater coil and see if that gets rid of the smell.

Very common fault is head gaskets.  causing coolant consumption and bubbles in radiator.  Run vehicle, have a friend accelerate once or twice hard, while you smell exhaust for sweet smell of burning coolant.

if there is no sign of leakage, it's probably fine. sometimes there are air bubbles in the system and it takes a while to work them out. which causes the need to add more coolant. i would keep an eye on it just to make sure there are no leaks. after driving for awhile and parking, look on the ground to see if any coolant is there. good luck
