Question about 2003 Chevrolet Impala
We noticed the leak when we turned the car off and we heard a whistling sound from under the hood. I don't know what the name of the part is but the whole is leaking directly onto the belt, spraying water everywhere with each rotation of the belt. The temp goes to the red area and you can smell the water being burned. As fast as the water is poured into the radiator is as fast as it comes out. We have replaced the hoses and fixed the pipe (with the small bolt on top) and have iliminated that as the problem. Although the leak is right under that same area. Please help!
It is the water pump. The seal is leaking and ruptured.
You must replace the water pump. Can't just install a seal.
The water pump has a pulley attached to it.
