Question about Volkswagen Passat
If the ac gauges are reading equal value, the expansion valve is stuck open.Or the compressor is bad.If you rev,the rpm`s up,does the low side pull down lower? If so,the expansion valve needs to be replaced.Be sure of this, also,if you have to replace the compressor, then the expansion valve, and the receiver dryer will also have to be changed along with the ac compressor. That`s if the compressor is bad.Now if the low side does not pull down when rpm`s are increased, then the compressor will hacve to be replaced,I hope this help you.

SOURCE: 98 Chev pickup air cond problem
1. Have the refridgerant fluid level checked. (Could be low)
2. Have you tried putting it on recirculate? Could be a venting issue.
Other than that it's out of my league.
