I'm sorry but you need to clarify a couple things. You state "after installation", installation of what? I can only deduce that you are referring to the starter, starter solenoid, or some other ignition component. Also please be clear on the component (if different then what was installed) that you are having trouble with rewiring. We want to be able to provide accurate information to you without adding to your problem. Thank you.

Where is starter cable under dash of 2000 Buick lesabre

There is no starter cable under the dash ! there is a small gage wire that goes from the ignition switch to the PCM - engine computer . When turning the key to the start position a small amount of voltage to the PCM is a signal for it to energize the start 1 relay in the under hood fuse/relay box . At the ignition switch ,connector 2 , pin B a yellow wire is this discrete voltage signal to the PCM .At the PCM this wire is at Connector-2 pin 23 . You can check for continuity with an ohm meter . Do you know what a relay is , find the start 1 relay in the under hood fuse/relay center ! You can test for power an control of the starter motor circuit ! VEHICLE RELAYS Operation Diagnosis If you had a professional grade scan tool you could view the ignition switch input to the PCM an energize the start relay in the special functions of the scan tool .

Car motor will not turn over when attempting to start. Electricity (fire) is going to starter but not to solenoid wire. What is the problem?

In the under-hood fuse block, there is a START 1 relay that provides power to the solenoid. There is a START circuit breaker (30A) that goes thru the closed contacts of that relay to activate the solenoid. The relay coil is powered from the PCM IGN Fuse (10A). All are located in the under-hood fuse box. See attached circuit diagram for assistance.

Starter motor relay location

The spot depends on the vehicle. It is usually on fender near battery, or most common - right on the starter. Just follow the thick red power wire from battery. If it goes to starter directly, then switch on starter. If it goes to unit bolted under hood then that is relay. There is usually a second wire that goes to the power distribution box (under hood fuses) but that is not the correct wire. It will be the other big wire from battery positive terminal.

Factory installed alarm keeps tripping itself and causing my van to not start.

Its better you reomove the installed alarm you dont have to remove and restore everything just 2 things the ignition that has be interrupted and the factory alarm in the hood just cut the alrm horn wire. For the ignition you will have to go under the console and remove the panel to access where they have interrupted the original wire. Identify the the ignition wires there you will see where they have splice a wire to a relay match thhe colors that they interrupted and restore that wire (its a 4 wire relay) use a but connection and ensure it does not fall apart start the car if the alarm horn goes off just cut it(NOT the car horn)cansmo_110.gif

When turn ignition over to start, I hear a clicking in the fuse box, under the hood. But nothing else happens.

The positive battery terminal has a separate heavy wire that goes to the starter. Remove this cable from the battery, clean it and re-install. Just a dirty connection.

The hood warning light stays on at all times and when I lock the car the alarm goes off 5 secinds later..what do I do to fix this..?

Try disconnecting the hood sensor. Now I can't remember if the sensor goes open when you open the hood or if it goes closed. Try by disconnecting it and see if the hood light goes out if not then jump the wires. The hood sensor is just a small pin under the hood. Looks like a door jam switch
