On a 2004, GM probably shows a recommendation of 100K miles. Assuming you have not driven the vehicle "HARD" by towing a trailer, crossing the Mohave desert for your morning commute each day, etc. I'd recommend maybe 80K. Any mechanic is going to suggest 50-60K so they can get your business.

If transmission is mis-behavin, then replace filter and fluid earlier.

Why does automatic shift hard when cold, then shifts OK after warm up?

There could be a number of factors contributing to a hard shift when cold. Year/make.model?? High mileage? Old fluid/filter in the tranny can cause lots of problems. If the fluid has never been serviced, start there and see if it gets any better

1999 dodge caravan lost trans fluide shoud i replace the fluide

you should at least add enough to get it to the full line on the dip stick. Depending on the mileage on the transmission, sometimes if you actually have the transmission serviced it will cause more problems than you had before. High Mileage - top it off and drive it.

possible due to mileage on vehicle, you may need to service your transmission. if fluid is real dark in color, do not service transmission.lube guard is a supplier that makes and treatment for this problem, which is called shutter fix. torque converter clutch is causing this problem when transmission goes into lock up. let me know if you need additional information

On a 2006 ML350, is it necessary to get the transmission service (new filter) after 48K miles??

yes Mercedes changed the transmission service interval to 40k miles but then after that you don't have to service the transmission until you reach 140k miles. It is a good idea to the transmission serviced at this mileage especially for warranty purposes. There was a lot of issues with the new 722.9 transmission when it first came out. Which is one of the reasons Mercedes moved up the transmission service from 100k miles to 40k miles for the first time it needs to be serviced anyways. Plus if the transmission happens to need repairing the first thing the dealership will look for is to see if the trans service had been done at 40k miles before doing any kind of warranty work on the vehicle. As a former Mercedes Benz Tech at the dealership I would say yes it is necessary to get the trans serviced.

Message is showing A service in 27 days, what kind of service is that?

Depending on the mileage on the vehicle could mean a couple of different things. Usually oil change. Sometimes service transmission, or timing belt. You can call your local Mercedes dealership and talk to the service department and give them the mileage on the car and they will tell you exactly what you want to know.

Should I have the oil in transmission changed?

I would not go by the oil change company recommendation.
It's much better to go by the car manufacturer's recommendation. Look in your owner's manual for the recommended time/mileage to change the transmission oil and filter.

I would go ahead and do the transmission service, I see no need at that mileage for the other suggestions.

Mileage for transmission Servcie for 2006 Dodge Sprinter

160,000 KM (100,000 miles) intervals under normal driving conditions. 80,000 KM (50,000 miles) under severe condition. The differential also has the save service time as the transmission. Good luck and hope this helps.
