Wiper oes not shut off why?

-possibly relay stuck in "ON" position. Unplug the relay and plug back to position. If it still on then replace new relay.

Good Luck

Window wiper won't shut off

The wiper motor board has some bad contacts ,therefore, the wipers run longer than normal trying to find the park position.

Wipers won't go home

Did the wipers stop in the up position? If so it may be a blown fuse or a defective wiper motor. Have you looked at the fuse-box? Did you mean that the wipers swipe the windshield correctly and then when the wipers shut off they stop in the wrong position. If this applies then inspect the wiper transmission. There could be worn/loose linkage between the wiper motor and the wiper arms. Also if the wiper motor was just installed. The clock position may be wrong. Please let me know if this information helps. If not please write back, leave more details, and I'll do my best, good luck.

Wipers sticking in upright position on 1999 vw passat

It sounds like they are in the "service position" If memory serves correctly do this to get them out of the service position:

Service position To get into service position:
  • After you turn your car off, tap the wiper stalk down. The wipers will move into the service position.
To get out of service position:
  • To move the wipers back, switch on the ignition and tap the wiper stalk down.

Windshield wipers will not turn off

Usually caused by the canceling switch in the wiper motor failing. The switch normally allows the wiper motor to operate after the wiper switch is turned off so that the wipers are in the down position when the motor shuts off; otherwise the wipers would stop in any position when you shut the switch off.

2000 L series sadan wipers work in normal operation zone but when you shut them off they stop half way up the window if the car is running with the wipers off and you push them down they kick on and return...

you need a new wiper motor, the return to rest position circuitry is bad. lucky for you that the whole assembly can be removed from outside the car. i know there are videos of folks doing this on youtube and i have left written instructions a few times on here. but a picture is worth a thousand words.

thing to bear in mind is make sure the switch is in OFF position before you start and find and obey the OFF position stamping on the linkage when you attach the arm to the wiper motor. you will see what i am talking about when it is out and in your hands.

M LEFT WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE GOES WAY OUT PAST THE WINDOW FRAME. WHEN I SHUT IT OFF IT STOPS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDOW. THE OTHER ONE WORKS FINE

All you need to do is to remove the wiper blades of the driver side and then switch on and off the wipe so that the other wiper is seen to work in correct position. Now switch off and in the parked condition, fit back the driver side wiper to the stem.
The wiper must now work

Rear window wiper starts and runs on its own and dosn't stop until the engine is shut off.

Wiper motors have a circuit which keeps power to the motor until it returns wiper arm to proper rest position even after the switch is turned OFF. Sounds like that circuit has gone bad, replacing entire unit in order.

Rear window wiper does not shut off

pleddeen: There is a switch inside the wiper motor that stops the motor when the wiper reaches it's park position at the bottom of the window. I would think that switch is busted and I believe the only fix is to replace the wiper motor assembly as these switches are not replaceable.
