Go to the local auto parts store and get a repair manual on your vehicle. You will need it as you will need instructions on removing the transmissions and then removing the clutch and bearings and re-installing them.

87 chevette instrumental panel fuse keeps blowing out when i put a new one in i just bought the car and trying to figure it out it did not have a fuse in it when i purchased it

install a test light (12v bulb) or a buzzer in palce of the fuse. When you get the light or buzzer to stop, you will have found the short circuit. Look in the owner manual for what this fuse protects.

Need to know how to remove the back seat in 78chevy chevette

Get a number 10 metric or a 7/16" socket and feel at the base of the seat bottom....should be two bolts holding the seat to the floor one on each side, use your light and perhaps you will need to peel back the carpet going to the seat bottom.
Happy Motoring!!

What is the proper timing on a 1978 Chevrolet Chevette?

My Motor book gives no timing for your engine that year, which suggests that it is preset. However that size engine ( should be a 97 cu. in. or 1600cc) for the 2 years before shows 8 degrees before TDC for a manual trans and 10 for an automatic. Hope this helps.

Check engine compression. Those engines have a cylinder arrangement that looks like four drinking glasses sitting inside a cardboard box. During overheat, cylinders drop below deck height and do not seal against gasket. Non-technical repair was to draw file the deck 'till it's even with cylinder tops.
Obviously, check all of your work as well, you may have inadvertently knocked something loose that has to do with starting.
