They are usually bolted in place and will come with new bolts and it simply slips back into place and then secure it with the nut and cotter pin

How do I remove my old cv axle on my 97 mercury mountaineer?

remove the brake caliper and rotor then undo the axle nut and disconnect the lower ball joint and separate from the spindle assembly. pull the outer cv joint out from the spindle and pull out the half shaft. you may have to remove the speedometer drive gear before removing the half shaft. installation in reverse order.

Do I replace the right side drive shaft on my 06

lower ball joint, strut mount, and pulling the halfshaft. you have to pull it out of the tranaxle and pull the spindle bolt. The ball joints let the steering knuckle hang loose to give it enought room so you can pull the halfshaft out the the transaxle.

How do i change my upper and lower ball joints 2001 chevy silverado crew cab

Jack up the car remove wheel remove brake caliper and remove rotor rent a ball joint press remover and installer tool (at schucks you get money back when you bring it back) if it's 4 wheel drive you will have to remove the axle shaft next pull the snap ring off on the top side and put tool on the lower tie rod end and press out, next do the top press out top joint next sand ball joint sockets so it is clean lube with WD-40 next press in top ball joint and then lower ball joint. In this order otherwise you will have to un install the top ball joint by removing the pin then nut.

96 taurus tire in at top approx 30 deg

I would be surprised if it were a matter of alignment if you can move the tire! I would suspect a severely damaged or broken ball joint. I would not drive it if the alignment is truly 30 degrees out. Remove the tire and observe the control arm and ball joint as you move the hub in and out at the top. Does the entire control arm move or just the ball joint? If it is the ball joint, it should be replaced. If the control arm moves it will need to be checked for tightness or replaced. Did the car strike something in the road?

94 Caravan pulls HARD to left when stepping on gas

IT IS VERY POSSIBLE THAT THE BALL JOINTS ARE VERY WORN WITH THE MILES YOU HAVE ON THE VAN.. THE REASON IT DRIVES STRIGHT WHEN YOU TURN RIGHT A FEW TIMES IS THAT IT LINES THE BALL JOINTS BACK UP, SOUNDS LIKE THE BALL JOINTS HAVE A LOT OF PLAY IN THEM, VERY,VERY DANGOUS.. KEITH..
