The sensor is bad but you cant disconnect it it will still keep the light in, you could try disconnecting the switch and run a jumper wire from one terminal to the other and loop it ,that might turn the light off, might

Get very hot and overheats

Check your coolant level.
There will be a resevoir tank somewhere under the hood. make sure the level is at par, and continue checking it after driving for about a week, because the level of coolant in your rad may be low, so it will draw more from the resevoir, dropping that level again. Need to make sure it stays off.
If coolant level is fine, then you will need to check the temp sensor, and coolant sensors.
Do any lights come on in the dash? (ie. service engine light, check engine light, etc?)

also check to make sure, while the vehicle is running, that the fan turns on. If this doesn't turn on, ever, even while the engine is too hot, then that will cause the engine to overheat.

I hope this helps!

I have 2 problems, the low coolant light comes on and the air conditioning blows warm, does it have a leak in air conditioner and where can I add coolant (what kind?); and the security light comes on and...

Low coolant is detected by a sensor inside the plastic resevoir tank. These things lie, so if the resevoir has plenty of coolant, it's probably a dirty or faulty sensor. If you can't see coolant, add it directly to the resevoir. As for the A/C, you can purchase an A/C pressure gauge or complete check and fill kit at a parts store and follow the directions for using it. If the pressure reads low, with the car running and A/C on full blast, add refrigerant until you hear the compressor turn on. Check your gauge again. Once you have it to pressure, you should be good to go. If it never gets there, you have problems. If it gets there and stops working again days later, you have a slow leak.

Low coolant light coming on

if the coolant level is ok then replace the low coolant light sensor, they are a real problem with these low coolant lites, the sensor is located in the side tank of the radiator, it is held in by a spring clip, very easy to change, u can also try leaning it 1st before replacing that often does the trick.

Coolant dash light stays on

No the light on your dash comes on when the coolant sensor is activated.

I would look at replacing the coolant temp sensor or somthing similar.

Low Coolant light stays on

Check you coolant resevoir. The low coolant switch is located in the resevoir so if it is low on coolant there, the light will come on. If it is full, it could be that the switch is stuck due to gunk build up in the resevoir. Hope this helps you out
