use an electrical tester with a sharp point tip, and poke through the coating into the wire at every 5".
this is the best wat to test the wiring.

SOURCE: intake air temp sensor
It is near the jumbled up plastic mess that Toyota calls "Noise Suppression" It should be plugged into the rubber hose that connects to your throttle body. It is press fitted in and it should pull right out. Good Luck!
