Base on the package shown on HERE and PDF.your only option is service mount the FET on the smooth end of the latch/buckle.

The "center of sensitivity" is on the apex on this sensor.

Can you magnetize the male end of the seat belt tab to trigger the HET?

You should call Hamlin for few engineering samples of different LOW PROFIT HET packages.

Can you give me the objective of this project?

Can a weight sensor under the seat (use in ABS system) work on you project?

Can a mic listen for the click tone and "reference it" work well on you project?

Would changing an ignition switch affect the operation of my seatbelts

No. Probably got something down in the buckle part. Coins sometimes get in them. Look in it. You will need something small to dig out what's in there. Paper clips work great.

2006 grand cherokee seat belt

Have the same problem in my 98 Toyota Rav4. I squirted the female buckle (bolted to seat, not holding strap harness) with wannabe WD-40 lubricant from the $1 store, and it seem to have solved the problem. I'm guessing the spring mechanism is worn out, which is why the harness buckle won't lock. Another solution is to replace the female lock buckle with an identical part from the used parts junkyard store.

The seatbelt light on the dash stays "on," even when everyone has their belt on, but I don't bother servicing that. If yours have an audible alarm instead of an indicator light on the dash, locate the source of the alarm sound and disconnect the wires to silence the sound.

How do I get seatbelt alarm to stop without doing seatbelt?

The drivers buckle has a pair of wires under the seat.I believe the switch in the buckle is normally open,so you should be able to just unplug the buckle to disable the alarm.(not sure why you want to do this, but I'm sure you have a good reason)

There is a pinging sound in my van until I reach 15 miles per hour then it goes off by itself. Sometimes it just keeps pinging while I am idling at a stop light. How do I turn this irritating sound off?

You have either a broken switch inside your seatbelt buckle, or you're not wearing it. Thats a reminder to buckle up. if you are wearing your seatbelt have the buckle switch checked.

I am working on a VW jetta 07, customer has stated that the air bag light is flashing on and off. I have not seen the air bag light flash myself, however our scanner has picked up a stored code 02513 for...

this may be warantied it all depends on the customers warranty plan and this code is for the seatbelt buckle, its the belt sensor for ocupied seat which is built into buckle.

Warning light came on this morning, figure of a man with the seatbelt. What does this indicate?

This is the seatbelt indicator, its not seeing that your seatbelt is fastened ifthe light stays on and the chime keeps going off.

There is a switch inthe seatbelt that closes when the seatbelt is buckled, and if not, thelight stays on and the chime goes off.

There are a couple reasons thiscould happen. It could be a wiring issue going to the seatbelt buckle,or more likely the buckle itself. Your truck is pretty new, so if youare under 36,000 miles the repair would normally be covered underwarranty.

Also, I suggest check the Repair Manual for Jeep-WK-Grand-Cherokee-Section-08O-Restraints (page 473 and next, for Seat Belt)

Hope helps with this (remember rated this) Good luck.
