If you drove it too far too fast in 4 wheel low. you could have done some serious damage to the trani. i have the same truck in a 1998 and the tachomiter goes nuts at 15 mph in 4 low. it was never meant to drive for any distance in 4 low. if your lucky. when your rearend went it didn't take out your drive shaft. if your not lucky. your drive shaft took some punishment and in turn damaged the trani.

2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 4wd p2771 code.

Sounds like you have a leak.
P2771 = Four wheel drive low switch circuit error.
I would look for a broken wire or bad connection.

96 explorer disengages 4wh low but does not engage 2wheel

Does it shift to 4wd high range ? If so then shift to 2wd . What is going on here is the transfer case motor is stopping due to the motor position sensor has gone bad which means that you replace the transfer case motor assembly. But if you wish to make it a 2wd for awhile then remove motor and manually turn shaft . This can be done by raising and supporting rear axle truck in park remove motor turn shaft slowly with pliers and rotating the play in drive shaft. There are stamped markings on back of case showing gear positions..

Check gauge light is on

Check the ground out at the thermistate housing area. Put a new wire loop end if needed . but clean with wire brush or sand paper if it is on the housing . Try moving to the intake itself . Try this before tring a computer. Good Luck!

1990 Chevy CK1500 2 wheel drive pickup - Rear end

Is the rearend blown into peices? if yes replace the whole thing. If not put it in reverse and have someone look to see if the rear driveshaft is spinning. If it is you more than likely need a ring and pinion set in the rearend. If it doesn't spin the problem is in your transmission not the rearend.
