Question about 2007 Chevrolet Impala LS Sedan New Cars
Yes, Low coolant.
Leaking water pump or leaking rear head gasket very common on this engine.
Would be under the 5 years / 100k miles factory warranty.

I just had the same exact problem like three weeks ago. I refused to believe that I was having cooling system problems on a 2007, with 35,000 miles and I was right. I had a hole in the coolant resevoir. Looked as if the heat from the engine or something had burned clear through. However, I used an inexpensive plastic tank epoxy and it worked like a gem...no problems since....

Check and make sure the system is not low on coolant, if the coolant is ok have the thermostat operation tested to make sure engine is getting hot
