Theres a possibility of carbon buildup on throttle plate!! take off air cleaner hose to get to throttle plate, use carb cleaner and scrub throttle plate and around it with a old tooth brush. I did this and it worked very well. the tps is sending a high idle to computer, so hopeing this will help.

I have a 1999 Lhs with 3.5 . It seems to be

No, more likely the idle control valve. It's not a sensor, but a computer operated solenoid valve for controlling idle speed. It lets air in through a separate passage, apart from the throttle plate which is closed at idle. It should let in enough air to maintain an idle speed. If it really is flooding, it may not be getting any air. You can check if it needs cleaning or replacing. Sometimes the passages get clogged with coking deposits.
If the idle control is good, you may have a leaking injector. Be sure and check for trouble codes in any diagnosis. If a sensor has a problem, it will usually set a fault code.

Idole to high

If your idle is too high it can mean a few things with computer controlled engines. Most common problems relate to the sensors in your throttle body being dirty or faulty. If after your disassemble your throttle body and clean the throttle body and sensors you still have the issue you can adjust your idle through the Idle Adjustment Screw.

P1131 manufacturer control fuel air metering. What is the part? The car is Mazda 626 carburator 1997.

Hi Galant5Rov,

Firstly, congratulations to you on identifying the Trouble Code. This code relates to the Heated Oxygen Sensor (H02s)

The oxygen sensors supply the computer with a signal that indicates a rich or lean condition during engine operation (i.e. fuel/air metering).

This input information assists the computer in determining the proper air/fuel ratio. A low voltage signal from one or more sensors indicates too much oxygen in the exhaust (lean condition) and, conversely, a high voltage signal indicates too little oxygen in the exhaust (rich condition).

The oxygen sensors are threaded into the exhaust manifold and/or exhaust pipes on all vehicles.

A faulty oxygen sensor due to loose connections, bad grounds, high resistance in the circuit, or opens in the circuit can cause the following symptoms.
Related Symptoms
  • Surging at idle
  • Unstable idle
  • Running rough off idle
  • Hesitation
  • Stumble
  • Chuggle
  • Poor fuel economy
  • Spark knock
  • Stalling on acceleration
You must take EXTREME care when removing these sensors, as they can be difficult to remove (seize up). You may require a special tool to remove these without causing damage to the sensor.

Cheers,

Idol very high 3000rpm possable idol sensor

throttle positioning sensor voltage should run around 1 volt at idle. If you unplug the sensor the car should still run on the presets in the computer, this will turn on the check engine light but if the RPM's drop down to normal replace the tps.

I have a idol problem with my car. please help

Idle problem like what? too low? too high? If it is too low it could be because your air filter is way too dirty or the throttle body has a bunch of carbon built up in it around the butterfly valve and gets no air at idle. If it is too high you have a vacuum leak. air sucking in from a cracked hose or intake manifold gasket. Check all your vacuum hoses and spray carb cleaner around the intake manifold gasket while the car is running.
