My odometer code no bus and it wont start 1999 dodge durango

Check for a faulty crank sensor. Sounds strange, but we found this out the hard way in the dealerships, many years ago. Following the trouble tree usually lead to pcm replacement, and it still wouldn't run.

Replaced engine in 1999 dodge durango 5.2 and it wont start, will crank but not start.

Hi Wilson,
Check all your computer connections....If the engine is diesel make sure all air is removed from the fuel system. the crank shaft sensor and the cam shaft sensor are critical....Check the the cables are not broken and nothing has been trapped between two components which have been tightened.

try unplugging the crank sensor that is located in the bell housing of the transmission,on top of the bell housing, when these go bad they pull everything to ground including the bus communication,if you unplug it and the message goes away, replace the sensor, hope this helps
